Space Stations

From this book, I learned some cool things about the International Space Station. One thing I learned was that the was that the International Space Station (ISS) is used for a lot of purposes. Astronauts live in the space station when they are in space. It is also used by meteorologists as they study weather patterns, so they can make predictions, then forecasts.

Some people want the space station to absorb sunlight and reflect it onto the earth as energy.

When I was 11, my dad took me to hear an astronaut speak. His name was Rick Mastracchio. He helped build the International Space Station, and he lived on it for 188 days. 

We learned a lot of cool things about his job and what it is like on the ISS. One thing I learned is how astronauts get their water. They get their water from themselves! What I mean is, when they go to the restroom, their urine gets purified, and that becomes their drinking water. It was a cool evening, and I had a lot of fun.
